5-Step Compliance Process

Whether you’re a veteran travel nurse or a newbie, we've got a straightforward 5-step compliance process to make things simple. Our Credentialing Specialists and entire team are here to back you up every step of the way. We keep things transparent, prevent any slip-ups, and streamline the whole process, so you can focus on crushing your new travel healthcare assignments.

Step 1:

Background Check & New Hire Paperwork

After accepting an offer, your Wayward Credentialing Specialist will personally connect with you to review the requirements for your new role. During that call, they'll cover:
Employment Screening:

  • Background Check
  • Drug Screen - Must be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance
  • Education Verification
  • Driver’s License (Pic of front and back)
  • Social Security Card (Pic of front and back)

Health Records:

  • Physical - within the last year
  • PPD or IGRA - negative within last year; if positive, must have chest x-ray within two years of start, proof of positive, and TB Questionnaire updated annually
  • MMR - two vaccine series or positive titer
  • Varicella - two vaccine series or positive titer
  • TDaP - vaccine within the last ten years
  • Flu - vaccine during flu season or declination (not accepted by all units)
  • Hep B - three vaccine series, titer, or declination

Testing:

  • Competency Evaluation
  • Core Mandatory Part I, II, and III (HIPAA & OSHA)

Additional items may be required based on the facility, like a respirator fit test or medication test. We're here to make sure you have everything you need to start strong.

Step 2:

Lab Authorization(s)

Your Credentialing Specialist will send you the clinic authorization via Email. This form will include details like:

  • Lab location information
  • Required Labs
  • Billing information
  • Donor special instructions
  • Lab special instructions
  • Contact information

Step 3:

Completion of Requirements

You'll team up with your Credentialing Specialist to knock out all the requirements. As you send in your documents, Wayward will forward them to the facility for approval. If anything gets rejected, your Credentialer will let you know what needs fixing until the facility gives you the green light.

Step 4:

Benefits & Documents

Once you've wrapped up the facility requirements for your assignment, a payroll onboarding specialist will send you a Welcome to People2.0 email. This is where you'll fill out direct deposit, I9, tax documents, etc as well as electing or declining Benefits.

Step 5:

First Day Instructions

You're all set with the credentialing process! Your Credentialing Specialist will then send you "FDI’s" to make sure you're ready to rock your first day of your travel healthcare assignment.
