Account Manager
Wayward Medical is seeking a full-time Account Manager who excels at generating new business opportunities and placing travel nurses on assignment. In this role, you’ll serve as a reliable liaison between our clients (Healthcare Facilities) and Wayward recruiters with their candidates, ensuring seamless communication and deal closure.
Our ideal candidate must excel in building and nurturing relationships while paying meticulous attention to detail to meet the needs of our clinicians, clients, and internal staff. This position offers autonomy to grow your desk and contribute to our overall business growth. With the increasing demand in travel medical care, you’ll have ample opportunities to hunt and deliver new business.
Job Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue additional growth opportunities, including cold calling and business development.
- Manage thousands of job openings, ensuring accuracy in our applicant tracking system.
- Forge strong relationships with multiple clients to understand their specific needs, cultivating these partnerships.
- Collaborate with Wayward’s team to target key account opportunities, consistently delivering high performance for clients.
- Provide ongoing management, leadership, and coaching to enhance our travel team’s effectiveness.
- Successfully negotiate contracts to secure a high volume of deals.
- Implement and optimize Wayward’s best practices and processes.

Skills And Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in an account manager role within a travel nursing staffing agency.
- Familiarity with vendor management system providers such as Vizient, RightSourcing, HealthTrust, SimpliFi, Cross Country, Aya, and AMN.
- Strong sense of responsibility and discipline to consistently achieve positive outcomes.
- Outgoing and personable with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
- Excellent listening skills and the ability to ask probing questions to understand client needs.
- Persuasive and adept at closing deals while ensuring mutual benefit for all parties involved.
- High emotional intelligence, integrity, and trustworthiness.
- Capable of improving, coaching, motivating, and leading a sales team.
- Natural problem-solver with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Ability to prioritize multiple urgent initiatives effectively.
- Strong organizational skills combined with a competitive and motivated mindset, without being overly aggressive in sales tactics.

Commission
- 3% of Gross Profit on all placements where you manage the account
- 4% of Gross Profit on all placements where you’re the recruiter
